For those districts that currently represent children in CINC cases, please note that Act 95, which makes representation of parents in CINC cases the responsibility of the district indigent defender offices, is to be implemented in stages over the next several years. Prior to any district switching to representation of parents, the implementation committee of the Child Representation Task Force will be contacting the district indigent defender office, the judges and other interested parties within a judicial district to discuss how implementation will take place. Each judicial district is unique and implementation will take place only after input from all interested parties. I have asked Paul Marx to place discussion of Act 95 on the agenda at the next LAPDA meeting. In the interim, if you have any questions concerning Act 95, please contact me.
